In "Why Schools Need to Get Social, Local, and Mobile", the author discusses ways emerging technologies could improve education. This is primarily directed toward higher education, but there would also be benefits to K-12 - at least eventually.
Suggestion 1: (Social) merge socializing online with the real world will have lasting impact on interactive campus space.
Suggestion 2: (Geolocation) make more inroads into making check-ins and GPS-based systems more compatible with the university environment.
Suggestion 3: (Mobile)
educators have only scratched the surface of intertwining learning into their students’ mobile lives outside the classroom

I love it! I feel this is a major way to reach out to our new generational students. They get bored so quickly. Technology perks their interest. I love using technology in my classroom.
