The Pew Internet and American Life Project just came out with a report that says people are increasingly going online as a diversion and a destination.
Does this really surprise anyone? It doesn't surprise me because it's definitely true for me. This number is increasing for all adults, but most definitely for the 18 to 29 age group.
Interestingly, according to this report, this trend goes along with other trends including the rise of broadband connections, increase in use of video because of high speed connections, and the explosion of social networking. You have to wonder though, if everything becomes available online including TV, movies, books, magazines, music, and school! how will we NOT be going to the Internet for just about everything? And what are the implications of that?
